I’m off to see Nabucco at the ROH next week. Does anyone have any good pre-theatre dinner recommendations?
I’ve been to Sushi Samba before – their pre-theatre menu is very good but I find their a la carte menu a bit overpriced.

Pre-Covid we used to go to the Petersham restaurant and were never disappointed.
Dishoom is good if you like Indian food.
Not dinner, but Nomad is just opposite the ROH and great for cocktails.Margot and Temper used to be good. Or, if you’re willing to walk a bit: Humble Chicken, The Seafood Bar, Mr Ji…
If you can manage a short walk then 10 Greek Street is the perfect pre theatre spot in my view.
Balthazar is opposite and we enjoyed it even in its overhyped way.
Christopher’s Grill was pretty good too if you’re feeling Americanophilic and carniverous.Dishoom is good if you like Indian food.

Thanks, will make a note.
My current favourite is http://www.bancone.co.uk
We have been going there for a few years and always get excellent Michelin standard (without the fuss) Italian food.

I like the Piazza restaurant in the ROH.

Do you have to book well in advance on perfomance days?
I don’t know if you have to, because I’ve booked in advance for all post-COVID bookings anyway.

Rules is always good and their bar upstairs is superb.
