As ever, Premier Inn head and shoulders above their competitors IMO. Once these new evolution style rooms roll out, I do potentially see less people (i.e. me) going for the Plus option!

Thanks for posting. Wasn’t aware of this refit. It’s fascinating how things like longer curtains make a room look far fancier.

But off the back of this I just checked prices for the newly refitted central Glasgow property. It’s almost double the price of the Radisson Red, which is quite punchy and presumably they run the risk of pricing themselves out of the core market. The earnings from Whitbread are interesting – last time round they were highlighting a fall in discretionary/leisure stays. Pricing like a 4* hotel isn’t going to fix that problem…

Interesting. Premier Inn is my go-to for cheap stays. Great for families and love having a shareholder card. Free breakfast for the whole family each time we stay adds to an already good value stay (mostly).

Just stayed in a new Premier Inn Plus rooms in Washington, and it did make it a nicer experience overall.

The previous stay there was in a very basic room, overlooking a smoking area, with an empty packet of antidepressants on the windowsill from the previous occupant!

Beds are the same either way (always good at a Premier inn). I wouldn’t pay for the extra ‘amenities’ of the newly renovated rooms as I don’t care for Nespresso or a minifridge on a 1 night stay… but it was worth a couple of quid extra just for a fresher room.
