My wife is keen to open the premier account and has been accepted for the card, so that she can earn the 100k avios
She doesn’t earn 75k, but she does have savings of over 100k in another bank which she’s happy to move across, it’s earning zero where it is.
She tried to open premier account today via app, assuming there would be an option to transfer funds, but was rejected without the option to transfer the 100k in.
Has anyone else applied this way? Presume she needs to open a separate savings account first then apply again?
Do they check earnings? They didn’t ask me for proof or payslips unlike HSBC.
If she was to drip feed in £5k every month, then I suspect as far they they are concerned then she would meet the earnings requirement.
I’ve never had my salary paid directly into Barclays, it’s always transferred across from another account.
