Qatar flights and BA tier points and Avios

Hello I’m not sure if this is the right place, but I have booked cash flights on Qatar but want to ensure I get the BA tier points.
My BA executive membership number was not added at the time of booking.
How do I get the BA tier points and Avios ?
I also have a membership with Qatar privilege ( joined last year as they were giving 2500 avios for signing up) but don’t want to get Qatar tier points instead of BA, or do I get both or are they the same thing ? Very confused.

You should be able to add your number on the Qatar website. Otherwise try accessing your booking on the finnair website and adding it there. They’ll then post automatically

Just double check when you check in that your BA number is on your boarding pass, if it isn’t ask them to add at the airport

Go to the Qatar Airways website
Go to manage /check in
Enter your booking reference and surname
Look on the right hand side under ‘Manage Flight’ and click on Update Passenger Details
Enter British Airways under the Frequent Flyer Programme, and your BAEC number in the box next to it.

Checked my BAEC details yesterday as explained by @Aston100 (thank you) and found OH and I had the same number. Changed the number, OH got an email saying passenger details had been updated – however, this morning it is wrong again, so I would highly advise double checking on Qatar.com and/or at check in.

Thank you everyone I actually contacted Qatar online chat and they added the BA number to the booking. Seemed nice and easy but I will confirm on my return.
