Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Qualifying year extension possible?

My tier points year ends on 8th September and by my reckoning I’ll be sat on 445 points.

I’m flying to Edinburgh on the 14th – what are my chances of getting a week’s extension to take into account this flight and thus re-qualifying for Silver next year?

    100%

An unpublished but guaranteed BAEC benefit is a 2 week extension but you need to call at the time to request it.

It’s not an extension per se as your collection year end date will remain the same.

But once those TPa have credited your account you need to call BA Exec Club and ask for them to be credited to what will then be your old year.

No point in calling before the. because they’ll just tell you to call back when the points hit.

A warning, I tried that this week after hearing so much about the two week grace period, and was unsuccessful. Was 45 TP short of Gold (1,080 TP) at end-collection year on Jan 8 and had a 90 TP flight on the 11th. Rang up, requested the grace period, and after calls back and forth w supervisors they would not budge: They say that I can have one flexibility (reduced threshold) or another (grace period), but not both. So if I got the full 1,500 TP by Jan 22 then I’d qualify. Fat chance. The grace period does not apply this year for all intents and purposes. And I found out the hard way.
