Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Rebooked on Vueling

I have been rerouted by BA on Vueling due to a flight cancelation as there were no suitable alternatives operated by BA/OW. I know that I won’t get my usual silver benefits, but will I still be able to claim avios / tier points as I was effectively involuntarily rebooked on another airline?

    yes
ask for original routing credit when flown, also if they refuse your free extra luggage allowance I’d claim and pursue if necessary, phone them for a lounge pass and if they refuse bill them for a lounge-size meal in the terminal as I think lounge prob wont admit you on vueling even if it’s codeshare.

You didn’t say when the cancellation occurred, but ORC usually only applies for very short notice cancellations. If it is further out, you will normally only get the TP/Avios applicable to your chosen rerouting.

Then obviously you wouldn’t accept a reroute on Vueling, then, would you?

The cancellation occurred yesterday (15 September) for a flight on Monday (19 September). BA only offered a BA operated alternative the next day so I’d argue I had little choice but accept this rerouting on Vueling.
