Redemption booking in First.. change of return date

We have an upcoming return avios redemption flight in first coming up at the end of May.

Booked this in July 2022.

Notice now some availability has come up on a better return date

Since we booked looks like the avios needed for these flights has increased.

If I call the BA first telephone line to ask then to change the return date..
Will they
charge a cancellation fee
request extra avios

Or simply transfer the date as route and class of travel is the same .. just a date change.

Yes, you’ll get charged the change fee and yes they will reprice the ticket and charge / refund Avios as needed
