Referral bonus for BA Free card (downgrading from BAPP)

Hi,

Player 2 has BAPP and I have Gold. She wants to downgrade to the free BA card. Instead of downgrading via chat, would I get referral points if I refer her and she applies for the free card as a new card?

I think Amex picks up the existence of BAPP and does the downgrade automatically, in order to prevent people having both cards at the same time?

IIRC you’d get nothing for that because it’s not treated as new application. Player 2 could cancel and reapply but there’s not guarantee she’d be accepted in the current climate.

You should get a bonus for referring player 2, if it is treated as a new application. They obviously won’t get a bonus though
