Hi, BA changed our departure time by 2hr10min . We phoned up to see what our options were and were told we could cancel for free and get the avios and £25 booking fee refunded in full.
I hung up , had a chat to OH about our options and decided cancellation was best.
On phoning the next day, the new rep said just the avios can be refunded. they keep the £25. Reason given is the time change is under 4hrs.
Anyone know if I can contest this, given the mixed messages?
If you cancel an avios booking you get your avios back and pay the min between what you paid and £35.
So if you paid avios + £25 and now just got the avios back you simply did a normal cancellation (regardless of time change).
But the agent is right: https://www.headforpoints.com/2020/10/24/british-airways-schedule-change-refund-4-hours/
The current BA guidelines are that if the change is over two hours you can change your booking without charge but the change needs to be over four hours to get a full refund without charge. The first agent may have confused the two.

For some reason BA is only charging £0.5 for refunds of avios flights.
I recently cancelled an avios booking (cash but £35 for two) and for a refund of £34.
