Forums Other Destination advice Relaxing European resort hotel with a 1-year old baby

  • 23 posts

    Hi,

Any recommendations for a luxury resort hotel in Europe next month, with a 1-year old baby?

Ideally with a nice spa area for Mummy to relax, and decent pools if not beach.

We are fans of the Ritz Carlton Abama, Tenerife, if that helps.

    Thanks,

Eagles Resort in Halkidiki is a favourite of ours, especially the Eagles Villas side. Also, IKOS resorts (all over Europe now).

Might want to consider length of flight, Greece may be a little too far with a one year old who is presumably wanting to walk around all flight

Reid’s in Madeira. We went often with our little one – it is much more small child friendly than it might appear. The staff make a big fuss of the little ones. Also it is 15 minutes from the airport and with no time difference from the UK. Lots of shops and baby friendly restaurants close by.

3 hours and 15 minutes for reference between London and Thessaloniki. There is also an 1 hour drive for transfer

3-4 hour flights aren’t too bad with a one-year-old (although granted, they aren’t all alike). By the time you’ve had the excitement of taking off, a meal and some books/toys you’re basically there if you can get them to take a short nap.

Ikos is the obvious one, although I expect largely booked up this soon. Olivia is probably the most toddler-friendly given that it’s quite small and flat, but they are all very well set up for infants. If it’s just the three of you, you’ll save a fortune booking deeper into term time. The Greek properties will be much cheaper in late September/early October but the weather should still be very pleasant. Sani is the sister chain.
