I got a survey from BA asking about revenue tier points. It would seem that this is what they are thinking given the change in tier point years as they would want everything to be done on a tax year basis if they are going by revenue basis.

Going to Revenue based TPs is not related to changing TP collection years. They could have introduced it even on the current system.

BAs accounting year is the same as IAGs – the calendar year.

I hope they don’t go to revenue earning for TPs unless they include Amex BAPP card spend. I like the idea behind current offer of spend over £15k on the Amex BAPP and get 100TP going up to 200TP for £25k spend. My only issue is that the timescale is far too short as i had stopped spending on the card once i got this year’s voucher and we were using my OHs card

My prediction is that offering tier points might be a permanent change.

Spend £10k in your card year – get the voucher
    Spend £15k – get 100TP
    Spend £20k – get 150TP
    Spend £25k – get 200TP

That both offers an incentive to spend on the card beyond £10k (I wonder how much revenue Amex are missing out on because people like Rob don’t spend beyond £10k), and ensures that to earn Bronze you actually still have to fly with BA.
