Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Reward Flight Saver query

  • 14 posts

It’s been a few years since I booked an outgoing flight -355 days.looking to book a flight for next summer to Europe. I’m looking at booking the outgoing flight in a few days and will wait for the return flight to pop up in a few weeks. I’m not using a companion voucher and have enough Avios to book the return journey. Can I book doing a one way return and then ring up and get customer service to tidy the booking up ie creating a return flight booking matched up with the outgoing one and taxes adjusted accordingly ? or should I ring up in the early hours to get the flight added manually ?

Re “taxes adjusted accordingly”, surely the point of RFS, is the cash surharge element is fixed, so 2 x one-way is the same as a return. What exactly are you wanting tidied up?

I can’t think of a European destination where booking at t355 is required for the outbound.

If by “tidying up” you mean two separate bookings are merged into a single one then that’s not possible.

Thanks for the replies. To clarify, I presumed that a reward flight saver return flight to Europe was better value than two single journeys. Sicily is a very busy route especially in the school holidays

Sometimes you get charged less for the return, depending on the departure country. But booking 2 separate journeys won’t cost you any more, and can actually give you more flexibility if you decide to change your travel arrangements. If there’s no 241 involved I’d just book them both separately when they’re released and leave it at that.
