Hi All,
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but just searching for reward flights on BA for Europe flights and the “costs” appear very high (compared to what I paid a couple of months ago) – looking at one way flight to Bucharest – which should be in zone 3 – so should be a base avios cost of 9250 (off peak) plus £17.50 tax for one way – and the additional options to pay as little as £1 (but more Avios) or more £££ and less avios.
However I’m getting a much higher base cost
eg: for a one way off-peak flight and it has the “reward flight” symbol next to it:
Total Price (Including all taxes, fees, and carrier charges)
13750 Avios + £ 35.07
You can select when paying
13000 Avios + £ 40.07
12000 Avios + £ 50.07
9250 Avios + £ 55.07
6250 Avios + £ 85.07
4250 Avios + £ 100.07
So the base price of 9250 + £17.50 now seems to be “+ £55.07”
Is this a bug or a significant increase (devaluing of Avios)?
I’ve also tried different destinations and similar results.
Thanks
It’s 9,250 +£17.59 for me. So it’s either a bug (I sometimes get this at pricing but searching again has always fixed it) or you haven’t earned an Avios in the last 12 months and BA have removed your Reward Flight Saver privileges as a result.
OK I’ll check this little doodly dah out for you, barafear899
might entail me checking into BA
13750 Avios + £ 0.50
13000 Avios + £ 4.50
12000 Avios + £ 10.00
9250 Avios + £ 17.50
6250 Avios + £ 45.50
4250 Avios + £ 60.50
looks like they like me 9p better than the Froggee, probably because I never told bad jokes in the Fringe

Q. What’s brown and sticky?
A. A stick
Hah hah boom. Weirdly the Fringe won’t let me anywhere near a stage. And I’ve got another great one about the difference between a chickpea and a lentil although that’s not for the family friendly audience that is HFP.
Apologies, I whoopsied a typo. I meant 9,259 Avios and £17.50 hah hah boom.
It does appear it was a bit of a bug – I was in “Edge” browser – I changed to Chrome and it came back to normal – 9250+£17.50.
Weird.
Before I discovered my issue, I had messaged BA on their Twitter account to ask for a link to a table for Avios Fares – and this was their response below:
“Hi, we don’t currently have a public peak/off peak table on our website. If you search for Head For Points, they should have a table released. All Reward Flights have been updated with the correct prices.”
