Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Reward seat checker showing one thing…

    And reality another.

I apologise if this has already been covered but I’ve largely been absent from here for a couple of months and can’t find anything on the forum.

Is the reward seat checker regularly telling lies?

LHR-JNB: Jan 27th showing 15k points in premium with a return on 8th at 30k in premium. I want to use my CC voucher to bump myself to upper. Go to do a dummy booking to check taxes etc and it then says points required are far, far in excess of those quoted on the checker!

Looks like you missed the outrage over this https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/09/30/virgin-atlantic-flying-club-changes/

If you’re only a red member your voucher is now capped at a value of 75k and you have to pay the balance.

Many people including me have now put Virgin at the bottom of our preferred carrier list, even below BA.

No I knew about the changes, the reward seat checker reflects them and the lower points values on it are labelled ‘saver’. On certain dates points required are fewer than they were before the changes. I just don’t understand why, when you go to book them they don’t correlate.

I’m not seeing saver for UC on the 27, but there is one on the 28th. Same when logged in.

    27th 7500,15000,205000
    28th 7500,1500,57500

The RFF isn’t live availability, it updates at unknown intervals, so maybe the last remaining UC flight had gone and when you logged on you saw the true availablity. If you can make the 28th work, there’s still 5 UC seats at the saver rate.
