A bit of both actually
General – you can use the award seat finder in the BA app, or SeatSpy/Reward Flight Finder or a specific search on ba.com. For the BAPP voucher you have to search the route/date you want. I think if you know how to search for I class fares (which I don’t), you can get a better idea but there’s no real short cut.
I think Rob alluded to it in a post back in December, but its worth noting that the I class availability unlocked by the voucher may not be released at T-355, nor any discernible pattern at all.
E.g. Heathrow to Singapore, there are a bunch of dates in late October, but nothing after that whereas there are a considerable number of dates available in April.
That’s in Club World of course. You won’t see any additional availability in other cabins.
If you select a date that has no availability it will show you a calendar with available dates. That’s probably the best way.

ITA Matrix lets you choose fare codes but doesn’t tell you how many seats are available in each bucket which I think is what you need. But even then is there an obvious formula?
ExpertFlyer will show you seats by fare bucket so you can see I class availability but others have said it’s not a firm indicator of seats actually being available unfortunately.
