Same Amex credit offer twice

Hi everyone, I posed this question in one of the daily threads but I don’t believe I got the answer.

I have Virgin Atlantic £250 back on £2000 spend statement credit offer showing twice on my Amex platinum card. I saved it when it first came around and then a few days later noticed it was available again and I was able to save it. I see it appearing twice now but it leaves me wondering if I spend £2000, will I be getting £250 or £500 back? I had a similar thing happen several weeks ago but can’t remember which retailer and I didn’t end up using the offer, however, I have a real booking to make where Virgin becomes attractive if £500 pays out but less attractive if it’s ‘only’ £250.

I will caveat this as it will not be a certainty as YMMV, however, on any occasion I have had a duplicated offer they have both been activated at the same time for the same spend.

As above good chance both will work as long as the tens are identical and of course you meet them.

Thank you both. The terms do state once per card, I guess I wouldn’t have a leg to stand on if it only did pay out once.

@iEimis did you book your tickets on VS and get a double payout from Amex? I’ve got two similar offers on a hotel stay and a double payout would definitely sweeten the deal
