Hi @Rob, are you planning to cover this in the upcoming days? Not sure if this is credible?

I’d like to give it a try matching from BA Silver even though I am still holding EB Gold till Sept 2024. Hoping to then retain EB Gold into 2026 by doing this. Not sure if I will be allowed through this loop though.

Perhaps a way to get *Gold via this route (i.e. BA Silver/Gold –> SAS EB Gold –> M&M Senator)?

Same here looking to do this to say Skyteam Elite which i currently get through the Air kenya staus match.

Thanks for the heads up @Vit – interesting opportunity for sure. My OW sapphire equivalent level with Finnair, acquired via their covid buy status promo, is about to expire at end of January next year… this could be a good route to get another status that in turn can be matched and extended in other programs! Nothing ventured, nothing gained…

I replied with the requested documents three days ago and have heard nothing. Same on my partner’s account. Has the match offer been pulled?

It says in the email, wait up to 10 business days after submitting documents

My biggest concern with this is requesting ID documentation via insecure email. They really ought have a secure portal to which these can be uploaded.

Agreed. Although they do state in their request for ID that you can mask your passport number.

My upgrade came through. SAS put my EB Gold status expiring 31/08/2026?! Think this will stick or they will manually downgrade people at the end of the offer period who didn’t achieve the status challenge?

Does not seem to work for me as already holding EB Gold (due to expire end of Sept 2024). Anyone else experiencing this? I might need to email back and ask.

@Rob It looks like either Miles & More may have adjusted their criteria:

I’m BA Gold, successfully applied for a status match to SAS EuroBonus Gold, but when I applied for the final step – to status match my SAS EuroBonus Gold to M&M I got this immediate error message on screen. I tried twice (just in case!) and same thing 🙁

Not eligible for a status Match
The SAS EuroBonus membership details you provided in todays application do not meet the criteria for a Miles & More Status Match:

The account did not earn status from flying activity
The account was recently received a status match elsewhere.

    Thank you for your interest.

I’ve just received confirmation that my application for SAS EB membership has been successful, and I’ll become EB Gold. Does anyone know whether I’ll get a physical card? I have a 10-year-old one from when I was just a member, but do they still do them?

    TJ 121 posts

@owjey Their Welcome to SAS EB email states: “In line with our sustainability initiatives, we no longer send out physical membership cards. Instead, you’ll find your digital EuroBonus card in the SAS App along with everything related to your membership, points, benefits and more.”

What a pity. There’s just something about a physical card. But great for the planet, I suppose…

Went through the rigamarole of applying and have got SAS EB Silver, but turned down by Lufthansa M&M/StatusMatch as status not earned from flying activity etc etc. Never mind – some things are just too good to be true…

When SAS eventually goes to Skyteam, will this EB Silver status be good for anything there at all?

    Thanks!

I filled in the status match a couple of weeks ago and after a few days I was asked to provide evidence of my BA status. I didn’t reply to this or the follow up email but this evening I have had confirmation that my status has been matched.

I am an existing SAS Eurobonds member but have probably only flown with them 10 times in my life.

Might come in handy at some point I guess.

Just got an email that my match has been refused. Apparently they could not match the names which are same! i guess win some/lose some.

For anybody who did status match on SAS – they fly out of LHR T2, which has plenty of *A lounges but no SkyTeam ones. I travelled through there last week and was refused entry at the SQ lounge. That said SAS has maintained a contract with LH, so travelers on SAS who have status or are booked in J can use the LH / Senator lounge.
