Hi folks
I have paid for seat selections on a flight next April. I’m about to go Silver, can I get a refund for these fees?
Indy
No. You paid for them when you were not silver and that’s what counts (someone pls correct me if I’m wrong).
Correct.
Doesn’t quite work the same way when you drop off Silver though. If after reserving your nice seat whilst Silver, you become un-Silver and drop to Bronze, in theory your seat reservation is done. But I have never had it stick and either seat allocation algorithms will take it away once someone more important comes along, or it will be manually reallocated to someone else (I’m not sure which). But I have never kept a seat reservation made as Silver for the actual flight if I became un-Silver
Luckily you still have the same flight after booking, let along same seats..
Don’t think I’ve sat on same flight after booking during last 3 years.
Always seems to work in ba favour and I’m out of pocket for booking flights and hotels seperate.
Getting rather annoying.
Need to book flights alone with our the fault to keep my freedom and sanity
Without the family, even Google hates me

Swings and roundabouts for me. Some trips have got a lot more complex, whilst other changes have allowed me to get on better timed flights that I originally didn’t book as there were no cheap fares left.
Does anyone else have experience of dropping from silver to bronze and seat allocation taken away. Is it still the same if my BA flight was changed to a Qatar one as I have to go through the Qatar website to pick seats and wondered if they would change them as well?
