Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club See future Exec Club tier in the run-off period between reset and card expiry

    Hello
My BAEC year ended on 8 August 2023. My run-off period therefore finishes (card expires) end September 23.

I haven’t requalified for Gold (or even Silver or Bronze). Because my gold was sponsored, I’m trying to find out if, come 1st October 23, I will have a soft landing to Silver, or as others have suggested (because my Gold was ‘gifted’) I will drop all the way to Blue! I have done 4 BA revenue sectors but not enough even for Bronze. I think I was Silver tier before being Gold, pre-covid.

Basically, is there a way of seeing your next tier before the “run-off” period ends and it is activated? For now, everything still (correctly) shows Gold. Knowing whether I will be Blue or Silver will change my Avios vs revenue ticket choices over the next few weeks! Thanks

No, I don’t think there is.

However, if you’ve done 4 ‘qualifying’ BA cash flights (and ba.com clearly said this) then you’re fine and will be Silver.

There is debate about what happens if you are gifted Gold and DON’T do 4 qualifying flights. You SHOULD still get a soft landing to Silver but I’ve seen two examples over the years where it didn’t happen.

    Thanks Rob.
Fingers’ crossed. I’ll report back in October!

I promised to report back. Card expired yesterday.

I DID get a soft landing from ‘gifted’/sponsored Gold to Silver despite reports that there is no soft landing for sponsored statuses. Perhaps the soft landing was offered because I completed 4x revenue sectors even though I didn’t even reach the Bronze TP threshold.

Took 14 attempts to log in to BA.com today, so no change there!
