A much better outcome – eventually – but the entire saga really puts me off Virgin. Their commercial policy was not fit for purpose, so they have had to back-pedal and issue a new policy. They could have saved themselves a damaged reputation, countless wasted hours spent on dealing with issues/escalations, and impacting their front line colleagues who had to implement and defend a poor policy.
I wonder if they feel this was worth the £ saved from forcing some customers into a refund. I guess we’ll know if they try the same next time.
Just a heads up – my claim for rebooking flights on BA has been accepted in full by Virgin and should have the money in my account next week.
Had to go down this route as they had no options on their system to book me onto anything (BA or MU) on the same dates.
Just got rebooked on BA but cannot access booking on ba.com with the same PNR. I assume I need to ask Virgin for BA’s PNR?
