Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Spend £50 at Which? Get 5,000 Avios

    Hi. Is this worth it?
Not sure how best to go about it. This offer has popped up in my Amex offers. Current yearly subscription is £39 or monthly at about £8.

I think you need the full fat print subscription for a year to trigger the Amex offer. That’s a “no” from me.

Yes I pondered this too as my renewal is due this month. They almost paid me last year though. Full subscription was 50% off at Which so £49, Amex cashback stacked (50% back over £35 spend) so £25 and finally £20 M&S voucher as a sign up thank you. £5.

By comparison not sure I can justify £99 for 5,000 avios and a subscription given how little I use it in reality.

Go via TopCashback. 42% cashback. £50 worth of Avios. Net cost will be less than £10.

The terms and conditions of the offer specify use of a specific link. http://join.which.co.uk/join/subscribe?source_code=921AAA&utm_campaign=amexoffermay&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=amex

The links don’t matter for Amex offers. For cashback, yes, you need to follow TCB’s link.

Links are usually provided in Amex offers to steer you to the page with regular prices and stop you visiting other discounted offers, which may be available. But Amex offers work by merchant not by a specific link. For TopCashback, you need to use their link, I agree.

Is the Annual Subscription at £79 the subscription with 47.25% tcb though?

    So the better option?

Isn’t that sub just for the print version of the magazine? It doesn’t give you access to the app or website that has all past reviews and guides.

I rang to renew and they offered me a full subscription renewal for £63 which will hopefully trigger the 5000 Avios when it’s due on 28th October.

The link that mentions AMEX is a UTM which is used by Google to track Analytics – it’s anonymised and can’t be used to apply any offers.

I decided I wanted the subscription anyway and purchased through TCB. A day later, Amex have emailed to confirm the offer has been trigged (debunking my interpretation that one had to use the link provided by Amex) and cash back shows as pending in my TCB account. In total, I’ll have spent £41.68 in return for an annual print subscription and a bonus 5,000 Avios.
