I would like to fly LHR-DOH-DXB
Booking straight through via QR is 45k avios in J. If I book two separate tickets it’s a fair bit more. Is there any way of forcing an extended 3-4 day break in Doha on the through ticket?
Didn’t QR used to have some sort of stopover deal where you could spend a few nights in DOH between flights? Have a look on the website.
The downside is I think you had to book one of their hotels, although these were quite substantially discounted, IIRC.
Failing that, DOH-DXB is only an hour and perfectly doable in economy.
They do, but it doesn’t work with award bookings, only cash.
Don’t think the Qatar stopover programme applies to award tickets.
D’oh! (Or DOH, even). Of course. Have you tried calling and asking if a phone agent could make the booking on one PNR?
I’ve actually had similar issues booking with IB, which is very annoying as the new timing of their MAN-MAD service requires an overnight stop for most connections now!

Even on one PNR, with a stopover, both QR and BA will charge for each segment separately on reward tickets.

Your response is ambiguous, but QR award bookings made on BA or QR sites will freely allow you a stopover of up to 24hrs without resorting to charging for each fare component separately. This is at odds with how BA charge, say, NYC-LON-PAR as an award. It was whether there was a way of forcing the QR-QR connection to 72hrs say that I was asking about.
So LHR-DOH-DXB is 45K in J
LHR-DOH is 43k
DOH-DXB is 7K on Y or 21k in FNYC-LHR-PAR is 34.25k and £50.50 in Y
NYC-LHR is 25k and £50 in Y
LHR-PAR is 9.25k and 50p in Y
