    Recently got another BAPP (after required gap for SUB though not relevant for this query) and want to get a card for OH. Can someone please confirm if extra points (Avios in this case though could be MRs if different card) for adding a supplementary cardholder are only offered at certain periods or are given as an offer to selected cardholders (or both)?

    Having got these extra points in the past (definitely on Gold and possibly on BAPP back in 2020) was expecting to see an offer again, (naively?) assuming that was the norm. Maybe it was just lucky timing before? I have read Rob’s article from Oct(?) last year when there was a specific link to follow but last time I added a cardholder it was an offer in the middle of my spend list on the App.

    You usually get points added automatically for the first card after opening the new card account. IIRC 3k avios for the BAPP.

    I wanted to be sure, so waited for a link to appear. Took about two weeks for my current Platinum, then it appeared on the right hand side when logged into my account. Figured better to be safe than sorry.

    My OH did this a couple of weeks ago on a new BAPP, and the 3000 Avios credited immediately.

    (A long time ago, I added a second supplementary card to my BAPP account, and got a second bonus. This shouldn’t happen. I can’t remember how long after opening the account I added the second supplementary. It might have been the following account year.)

    Yes, just use the link that Alex posted. Got the points a couple of weeks ago on a new BAPP. You don’t even need to activate the supplementary card

    Thanks for this, unfortunately I get the message “ We’re sorry. Additional users cannot be added to the selected card through this online process.”. Which is the same message I got from Rob’s old article link. The plot thickens…

    I added a user through the link in the app last year, and it was fine. I got the 3K points on the same day or the next day. I didn’t wait for any message to pop up about getting a 3K bonus or using the special link.
