Forums Other Airport lounges T5 Club Lounge North – no HfP review?

  • 609 posts

My first port of call when deciding what lounge to use is generally the HfP reviews. Heading to T5 this week and have never (shock horror) flown business from there before. Looks like there are options of north or south lounge, but no HfP review for North?

Are they much of a muchness, or is one notably different from the other?

They are much of a muchness.

A couple of weeks ago there was a trial in operation where SH passengers were being diverted to one and LH to the other. I’m not sure if this trial is still in operation, or where you’re flying to, so you may not have a choice.

Best is still the B gates lounge, albeit not that convenient if you’re flying from A gates.

Level of ‘service’ is the same. South is larger and therefore tends to be quieter, or at least have some quiet corners in it. North is less of a trek to get in and out.

Always South or T5B for me.

We know there is a big hole in our BA lounge coverage.

The bottom line is that we need the lounges to be pretty quiet to photograph them and unless you are there at 5am or 11pm they are rammed. At 11pm it’s also dark outside which makes photos difficult – and of course for much of the year it’s dark at 5am too.

Rhys and I also have Gold cards so slumming it in Galleries N/S is a trade down too 🙂

The only reason we got Galleries First done recently is that I happened to be on the last flight out – and then BA went and swapped all the furniture a week later.

Maybe put out a call for some crowdsourced reader photos which an article can be bolted around? I suspect pulling the fire alarm to get an empty lounge would be frowned upon.

This time of year, as it gets light about 4am, would be ideal for someone with a very early departure to take some pics as soon as it opens!
