I’m looking at booking return business class flights for two people from London to Toronto, using a BAPP Companion voucher.
The BA website is quoting me 170k Avios + £700 total…?
I’m sure when I looked at using the companion voucher previously for similar flights to North America I was getting quoted approx. £1000 per person in taxes/charges, and this is roughly what I’ve recently paid to Virgin for similar flights to New York.
Have BA reduced their taxes/charges on long haul flights? Have Virgin royally screwed me over?! Or am I missing something obvious :s
Yes you are missing all the very obvious publicity about the recent changes to avios pricing, lol! Rob did a series of articles on it a few weeks ago which will make it all clear.
You’re paying a lot more Avios than you expected too, that’s why the cash element is lower. You can move the balance point paying less avios and more cash if you’re that way inclined.
Have a great trip.
