It’s Christmas!

Sainsbury’s have launched their Countdown to Christmas promo on the Nectar App. My thresholds are:-

Collect 750pts, earn 100 bonus Pts.
Collect 1500pts, earn 200 bonus Pts.
Collect 2000pts, earn 300 bonus Pts.
Collect 3000pts, earn 500 bonus Pts.

Spend 4 times before Halloween, earn 300 Pts. Then there are two more thresholds to unlock before St Andrews day and Christmas Day.

I make that 2000 potential Nectar Points between now and Christmas.

I signed up for it yesterday, receiving 50 points for doing so, but the feature has now completely disappeared from my app! Hopefully it reappears soon.

Essentially a compounded 10% bonus for me on earned increments of 1000 points. First monthly challenge is 6 shops for 300 points. Very poor IMO, certainly I will earn without trying but no incentive here to make me spend more, or more frequently.

The bonus points have counted in previous years, if that continues to be the case you might be a lot nearer than you think.

It was more about the 6 shops before the end of Oct.

I only do 3 shops a month, (can’t beat home delivery for a quid) and recently the bonus point items have been regularly out of stock. Only been getting 300-400 per shop. They will count and so will points earned via ebay, argos etc. So may have to do some shopping via that route.

Finally got satisfaction from Sainsburys bank after nearly a year of chasing the missing 2k points from the 10k nectar card offer. Last but one comms said it was only an in store offer, lost patience and threatened them with formal complaint and FCA and lo and behold the missing points have dropped in my account!

Someone is currently taking them to an official complaint – I got an email from FOS asking about our article. Can’t believe Sainsbury’s is bothering for the sake of 2000 points.

Not that they will even look at it the images. Only total arrogance / blind belief in what their ‘system’ says. Really poor show from Nectar!

How quick are Avios>Nectar transfers these days? I thought they should be instant (again)?

They can take up to 10 days to show in your Nectar account. Not a quick transfer unfortunately.
