Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Tier point run possible LGW to JER in one day?

I am hoping to go LGW-JER and back in one day. The BA website won’t sell it as a return , presumably as turnaround too short.LGW is one flight a day and much cheaper than LHR .
Is this wise or even possible ?

What is the return flight time? Are you trying to fly there then immediately turn around?

You could try to book as two one ways. The downside is that your return flight would not be protected if there is a problem with the outbound flight. And you would pay two sets of cancellation fees assuming the flights were flexible and allowed cancellation.

There are some days of the week when there are two or more flights on this route so have a look for those.

On such days the return csn be booked for the later in the day flight,

And assuming these are economy plus of CE then doing a same day change to the earlier return flight should be possible

Easily doable, I’ve done back to back flights there a few times to pick-up/drop off things at the airport as well as part of TP runs.

Don’t rely on it, but sometimes the internal doors in the bijou terminal are open and you can walk from the plane, into the terminal and bear right into the waiting area for departures, assuming you’re in CE you can use the lounge, though it’s pretty basic and can get crowded.

Otherwise, if the internal doors are closed, exit normally through arrivals, once outside turn right, short walk along the side of the terminal to security for departures.

There can sometimes be a queue for security x-ray, but I’ve never waited long enough to need to ask to queue jump.

Either book it as two separate tickets, or book through Amex who happily do it for me.

Yes, I’ve done this myself. But you can’t book it online if the flights are too close together – you need to call BA and book it over the phone.

I did this from LHR to MAN.
It’s the same plane that comes back, so when the outgoing leg was delayed an hour, it didn’t matter because all I had to do was get off the plane and get back in the board queue.
I booked it as 2 singles
