Last year I was awarded tier points appropriate to Club World from a GUF2 booking upgraded from PE. This year the Executive Club tier points prediction for a flight showed 360 tier points to be awarded ( MCR/LHR/DXB ret ) but only 220 were awarded after the flight ie tier points awarded as the original PE flight purchased.
Any ideas as to which is correct and do tier point projections on my Executive Club homepage carry any weight as regards a contract?
Tier points should be awarded for the ticket actually paid for, but sometimes you get the ‘bank error in your favour’ scenario , anecdotally maybe more prone to this if there have been amendments to the booking because of a cancellation for example. BA IT as we know is not the most reliable, so you should plan on getting the TPS for the underlying fare, and anything else is a lucky bonus.
