Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Tier points newbie part 2!

  • 158 posts

    So, another 2 questions.
    # I assume that tier points are awarded after the flight so booking and paying for a flight/ba holiday before the cut off that flies after the cut off doesn’t work.
    # I think I’m going to do a London/EDI day trip in October. [80 TP?] How do I see what tier points are awarded when booking just to make sure I don’t waste the trip by booking wrong type of ticket?
    Thanks all.

Waste of forum space this is. You already had a thread.

    …and a good morning to you as well… sigh…

The point is if you have an existing thread on this topic it’s best to keep using it rather than start new ones as it will help future uses and not just you.

I’d advise you to read this excellent guide from flyer talk which will answer all your questions

What Comrade Chag was presumably trying to say is that it’s better to reply to an existing thread on the same topic, especially if that existing thread was started by you. Multiple threads on the same topic just make it harder to see any other threads.

All short haul business class flights get 40 TP each way (except for some of the longer ones on BA that get 80TP)

You can find most of this very basic information on the BA site, including a Avios and Tier Point calculator which will show you how many you’d earn with any proposed trip.

    – indeed you have to have flown to get the points so a booking makes no difference

    – Google “collecting avios” and you will be taken to a BA page where you put two airports and your current status and can see the Avios and TP you will get on each airline

    – Also, if you go to Manage My Booking once you bought a ticket you can see at the end the number of Avios and TPS you will get

    Good morning haha
