Tier points on reward flights

I was sure I read on the VS website last month that Virgin tier points were earned on reward flights, including KLM. My recent KLM reward flight gave me nada – oh well.

Checking the VS website now, it says tier points are earned every time you fly*

*(Excludes Points Plus Money and reward flights).

So it looks like tier points are no longer earned even on VS reward flights

Yes, you get them on VS metal. You don’t get them on any other combination.
The VS website is full of inaccuracies, some of which work in your favour.

They certainly were, but I’m pretty sure the wording on this page is new.

Would be great if anyone who has travelled on a redemption ticket since SkyTeam launch could confirm.

If you scroll down that page, it specifically says ‘Earn Tier Points on every flight including redemptions’ which I agree contradicts what is at the top but ….
