Hi,
Just been reading the new membership year scheme.
I think if I am correct I will get my gold status all the way till 2026 April?I am Gold at the moment, membership year ends on 8th Nov.
From April 2024, I have the following trip planned.
MAN to SOF via LHR on Club Europe – 5 nights with hotel via BA Holiday. This should bag me 240 tier points. With 480 tier points in total. (Double tier points promotion)
LHR to NRT via FRK on Club Europe and JAL Business Class – 5 nights with hotel via BA Holiday, all flights are BA flight number. This should bag me 360 tier points. And 720 tier points in total (double tier points promotion)All together will be 1200 points so far.
So, I just need an extra 300 points between April and November to get my Gold.
For those points, it will be re-credited into the shorted tier points period from 9th Nov 24 till 31st March 25? And that will requalify me all the way till April 26?
Just want to say thanks to the people here, to double check my maths? 🤣
Thanks
I think you’ll be 300 points short.
It’s this bit you aren’t understanding, if my understanding is correct.

Your old TP year ends in Nov so they are recrediting, not recounting, those TPs to your new shortened TP collection truncated year. Sorry, I could tell you were quite pleased with yourself but I don’t think it’s correct.

Hi,
I understand that I am 300 points short. So, I need to book something between April and Nov to get that extra 300.
If you are correct, what’s the point of this recrediting? They might just as well extend my Gold membership till April 25?
They are ‘recrediting’ as part of their way of bringing everyone onto the same collection year. Simply extending status won’t do that.
If you get 1600 TPs by 8/11/24 then you will be gold under the current system and will have also earned them under the new system

Hi,
Thanks,
So, for those trips that I have booked leaving from April 2024, plus the extra 300 points that from some other new bookings that I will make. What will happen? Will my gold membership ends on Nov 2025 or April 2026?
Because some other people say I will have Gold till April 2026, but some say I will not. This is where I get conflicting information.
To my understanding, I will be Gold all the way till April 2026?
Thanks.
My understanding is this:
Count points between April 2024 and March 2025 – if you collect 1500 in this time, you will be Gold until end of April 2026.
Current/ongoing status will depend on what you reach before your current (old style) year ends. So if your extra 300 points are after November, you will drop to silver temporarily.
