Forums Payment cards American Express Time for process

I earn 43k, but also have 12 k additional household income. I have an excellent credit rating (Experian website). I’m waiting to hear back (I applied yesterday). Is this fairly common? I think when I applied for a cashback amex 5 ISH years ago, it was an instant yes, so a bit surprised to be waiting. Nothing has happened to bring my score down. But I have moved address recently.

Do others have experiences of waiting, and if so, how long did you wait? I know I’ve read somewhere it can be up to 10 days to find out.

I applied for Platinum (if that changes anything)

It took over a month for my last application which had generated the need for a review. I chased after a couple of weeks and then said it was in a backlog. At no point did they ever request any additional information from me and just as I gave up hope it arrived. We’ve had 30-40 cards between my spouse and I in the last decade and never once experienced a wait of more than a few days. Maybe they are getting wise to my game?
