Now that I have my sign-up bonus & 2-4-1 from BAPP and Barclaycard Avios, should I cancel the Barclaycard and keep the Amex to rack up 2-4-1 vouchers (or have I got that wrong)?
And as for Platinum, if I cancel that will the Priority Pass benefits be immediately revoked or me + supplementary cardholder?
I have the Gold purely because I never get offers on the other cards… but the offers have never been particularly brilliant so I’ll cancel that today.
I have BAPP, Platinum Chargecard, Barclaycard Avios (downgraded from plus after the 100,000 bonus and retained as a back up to my Amex for the few times it is not accepted e.g. school meals account), HSBC Premier World (downgraded from World Elite, maybe will upgrade again if I can qualify for the bonus in two years).
So my suggestion would be to downgrade the Barclaycard rather than cancel as there will always be occasion where Amex is not accepted unfortunately.
With regards to Priority Pass, as far as I have read before, I believe the subscription is immediately cancelled when cancelling the platinum account (for both main and additional CH). Hotel/Car rentals statuses may last until each anniversary year when sometimes it is checked again and/or until the natural expiration date of the card used to gain status (that was my experience in yeh past with Avis and Hertz).
