Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Accor Live Limitless TopCashback for Accor members

Topcashback gives you 10% cashback on Rixos bookings. You can also get a 10% discount by being a member.

Does anyone know whether you can get both? Normally, discount codes mean you don’t get your topcashbacj refund, but this isn’t a discount code as such and the topcashback wording seems ambiguous to me.

Has anyone managed to claim both successfully?

The reason I ask is that the Accor website is also ambiguous about whether all 4 people in a room would get all inclusive if you upgrade to all inclusive (it says for 2 people) whereas on the phone they are saying for the same price it’s all inclusive for everyone. So my preference would be to book on the phone but if I’m going to get an extra 10% off by booking online, I’ll take my chances.

Just linking up, remember Accor also has mutual double-accrual setupable with BA, AirFrance/KLM and Qantas, you can change once per year.

In some countries Accor also has other deals of interest such as Europcar.

TCB works just fine with Accor and as a bonus the Accor Points that you can use to pay with are as cash on the TBC site so effectively a sort of double dip ….

Note that the cashback rates are now reduced if you book as a member. In effect you loose some of the member discount through the reduced cashback. Makes some sense if you see cashback as for third parties (advertisers) but otherwise it’s a bit annoying for members who loose some of their cut for being a member…

Just checked and reductions applies to Gold, Plat and Diamonds

Nre customers, Classic and Silver get the higher rates

I have never had an issue getting cashback but my last two Accor bookings have not paid out because TCB “haven’t been seen as the reason this order was placed”.

The first one is incredibly annoying as it was £400 and tracked immediately. I booked over a year in advance (Paris Olympics) and I think it is Accor just scamming me.

The second was more understandable as the payment page failed (twice). I gave up but despite payment supposedly failing and not receiving a confirmation email the booking did appear in my account. It was £60’s worth.

Mrs Froggee has wisely told me that life is too short but Accor have gone way down my list of hotel groups because of this. So Sofitel at T5 still a must for me but where they are less advantageously located I think I will endeavour to avoid them once I’ve used my suite upgrade certs and Accor points balance.

I’ve had several Accor stays that have been declined by TCB/QC. Each time I’ve lodged a claim but been told that Accor said I didn’t stay. I have sent screenshots of my Accor account showing points accrued for the stays in question but TCB/QC always say there’s nothing they can do about it. One of the first times, I contacted Accor support, sending screenshots of what TCB/QC said and got one of the worst responses from CS in my entire life. We went back and forth multiple times, with their responses being dreadfully written. I actually thought they were writing badly on purpose to avoid answering the points I was making.

I find Accor to be easily one of the least reliable for cashback being paid on eligible purchases. Often when I’ve disputed things, TCB/QC will pay as a goodwill gesture, but never for Accor it seems. I reckon I’ve had about 10 Accor stays where I’ve not received cashback.

This is interesting about others recent experiences through TCB. I used to get Accor stays paid OK but my last 2 booked via TCB haven’t tracked or been paid when I submitted claims.

For both, the reason given was that Accor said I hadn’t booked a qualifying rate. I couldn’t see any reason they wouldn’t have qualified but I got nowhere with disputing it. It looks like I should expect not to get cashback for Accor if others are also finding bookings don’t track and subsequent claims are being declined.

I’ve sent TCB letters before claim before and they immediately paid out. I suspect they are telling porkies and don’t want to be caught. I’ve not had an issue since I last did that in 2019. I do screenshot/actually video record the process from start to finish every time.

I have been getting high level of success with TCB with several retailers but never got cashback for Accor bookings/stays. TCB customer service simply accepts the decline by Accor with no support for customers. I gave up and stoped used TCB with Accor.

My approach to TCB and similar things is never ignore it, but never buy anything expecting it to pay out. If the maths using it, versus some other channel giving an assured benefit, I don’t. A voucher code is going to work (or not) at the checkout or basket stage… a bird in the hand, and all that. But click through more in hope than expectation and you won’t be disappointed.

People (for good reason) very rarely post online about things that shouldn’t get paid out that in fact do. Suffice to say I have had positive experiences with things that absolutely should not work.
