I recall that in the past BA would sometimes extend the TP collection period if for example one had a flight booked a few days after and the TP’s earned would get them a higher status. With the new collection period being enforced, do we know if BA is amenable to those extensions anymore?
Hubby needs 35 TP to get bronze. Collection period ends on 8th October and his flight is on 11th. Those TP would be wasted if BA didn’t extend his period as he wouldn’t have enough TP to get bronze from April to April. And if BA were to extend said period, when would his new status be valid until? October or April 2025?
Thank you!
TP collection year dates aren’t extended
What you can do for flights taken in the 14 days after it ends, and once they have posted, is to call exec club and ask them to be reflected in your old year.
Oh ok, that’s great. And according to the new rules, would he be bronze until October next year or April? Not sure it’d be worth becoming bronze just for 6 months…
When did he get the other 265TP? If he earned them since 1 April they will be added again within 14 days of the 9 Oct 2024 reset so he would be Bronze after his flight on 11 Oct.
Otherwise just ask BAEC for the 2 week extension as BAFIHGS says – they might say yes.
I’m sure this has been covered before (numerous times) so apologies.
I have a couple of ba companion vouchers which I’m looking to usr next year.
I’m looking at cancelling my paid for ba amex prior to using the vouchers.
Question: Do you have to use a ba amex card when redeeming the vouchers, or can you use any amex card, including business ones?
Thanks in advance.
@Richard Brim you should be able to pay with any Amex. I used the supplementary card in my name on my OH’s account to pay the fees on my last companion voucher redemption. I would not try paying with a business card though as that specifically incurs charges on BA’s website. The specific reference to the BA branded card is in relation to holding it when you travel but I have never been asked to show it when checking in.
