Can anyone help me out here as to what the problem might be?
I opened an Iberia account absolutely ages ago, not exactly sure when but I think 2023. It’s had zero balance since opening. On Monday this week (18th November) I transferred some Marriot points over, so the account has 1000 miles.
I’ve now logged into the portal to try and “combine my avios” and send over some points from BA Exec Club. However, the message “Sorry, you currently don’t meet the conditions to combine Avios with British Airlines” and the option is greyed out.
The conditions say “Not possible for blocked accounts or For accounts older than 3 months.”
so do i need to close the account and open a new one? it seems a bit of a pointless condition. If I’m reading correctly, any transfer to an Iberia account is likely to be just a one-off unless you want to a new account.
Can you definitely see that you have avios in your Iberia account?
Are you trying to send avios from the BA site or from the IB site? Try the one you have not tried.
Also what you say about “Not possible for blocked accounts or For accounts older than 3 months.” doesn’t make any sense, maybe better if you copy and paste the text (I note also you refer to “British Airlines” which made me think you wrote the first bit wrong)
If I login to Iberia I can see 2400 Avios points, made from 2 transactions in the last few days.
If i try to send from BA it comes up with a tiemeout error from Iberia – even though I’ve done this within seconds of logon.
trying from Iberia gives what I mentioned in the original post.and yes, I agree, it doesnt make any sense. I have copied and pasted the text from the Iberia site, which is what I’ve included in the quotes. The grammar is poor and very confusing……British Airlines indeed 🙂
and now if try to logon to Iberia i just get this ….
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “http://login.iberia.com/IDY_LoginPage?” on this server.Wow, it actually says British Airlines, I apologise!
I’m reading the two clauses as separate, there is no ‘or’ as was in your text.
* Not possible for blocked accounts
* For accounts older than 3 monthsIs your BA a household account?
If not, I think you are going to have to call/tweet Iberia, and hope you get somebody who can understand both the problem and how to fix it…
That “older” is clearly an error as it should be something like “ no transfers to accounts less than 3 months old”
And IIRC IB has different rules about if transfers in from e.g. hotels counts as an earning activity to then allow an avios transfer.
(Also 2023 isn’t “absolutely ages ago”)
