This is my first time attempting to use my avios points, and is proving to be more difficult than I expected. Had a few issues with names not matching, but finally got that sorted and I’ve been able to transfer my avios to my Aerclub account. My husband has an Amex and we’ve recently taken the points off that and put them in his BA account. I’ve then created a household account with the intention that I take his points, transfer them to Aerclub and then we can book a flight with Aerlingus. However, now that the points have transferred from Amex I can only see them in the household avios, and not mine (if that makes sense!). As they’re not showing on my balance it won’t let me move the to Aerclub. Does anyone know if/how to do this?
What you are seeing is correct. You can redeem through BA using the ‘shared’ household account points, but you can only transfer your own.
Your husband could transfer his avios to his own Aerclub account, but that would not give you them all in one place for one booking.
