Looking at booking car rental pick up drop off MCO – March 18 days -Large to take 4 adults & golf clubs. Looked at Skyscanner (Trip.com) rates approx between £400 & £500 cheaper than going directly to Avis or through the BA site for exactly the same vehicle.
Has anyone had an experience, or is this one of those offers that is too good to be true.
Thank you and I look forward to a helping hand in understandingJust, mainly, make sure the insurance is comparable and not aimed at the US market.
I second this. Booking direct with Avis/BA for US car hire gives you full insurance cover (and free 2nd driver via BA), many Americans have some level of cover via their credit cards so don’t need to pay for the full package a hire company might offer.
Booked my son a couple of cars for doing a USA road trip last summer. Was much cheaper through Trip than anyone else.
Everything with Trip was fine. One of the car companies ripped him off by adding tolls on even though he’d declined them (and paid for them in cash). I even put a post up on here asking for assistance. That was nothing to do with trip though.
I remember the post. Does Trip, com require payment up front?
Valuable pointers, thank you for taking the time to respond. Feel much more comfortable in my decision making.

I think one did and one didn’t (probably the one that I only ended up booking the day beforehand for him did!).
I also used Trip for car hire when we did our recent NZ/Aus holiday (only had hire cars in NZ though).
