I’ve booked a return to Joburg on a 241 out F and just added a return in J, both appear on the same booking reference. However, on selecting manage booking/ seat selection – the drop down says seats only available at check in- the flight is next May?
Outgoing seats are already selected and I wanted to pay to select. Has anyone experienced this or knows a work around?If you were unable to select at booking, you may need to wait for the return to be ticketed. Once you get that ticketing email from BA for the return leg (assuming this was added manually by phone?) you will be able to select.
As noted you may just need to wait for it to be ticketed but as you are outbound in F you can call YouFirst and ask if you want. Also could be worth waiting a little and maybe setting up a SeatSpy alert in case F becomes available for the return rather than booking seats asap unless you have a specific need
Check if you have been ticketed.
I had this problem when booking my outbound on day of release & changing to add the inbound a few weeks later.
