I have a small amount of United Plus points. It’s highly unlikely I’ll be collecting anymore, or indeed flying with United any time soon.
Any idea what I can do with them vis a vis moving them across to other programmes? I’m a member of BAEC, collect Virgin and Hilton points.
Have you looked at their website for uses other than flights?
United’s taxes/fees/charges policy is excellent, making them one of the few schemes where long or short haul economy can make sense — and availability is pretty good too. The miles don’t expire, so unless you are fully invested into another star alliance programme, i’d be inclined to keep them, and slowly top up when flying with a united partner.
You can also top up with Marriott points, and in large chunks the exchange rate is favourable, so earning more points via UK credit card spend is perfectly possible too.
