Hi all,
Just wanted to provide an update following my earlier posts here:
https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/worried-our-reward-flights-could-be-cancelled/
https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/guidance-on-getting-confirmation-of-flights-from-ba/
To quickly recap, I had been concerned that BA might cancel or refuse to honour a reward flight booking I had made 3 x J LHR/LAX returning PVG/LHR due to the IATA surface sector rules not allowing the surface sector to be greater than either leg of a return.
However, I’m pleased (and a bit surprised, if I’m honest!) to report that BA has now fully processed and confirmed our tickets exactly as booked. It did take a few follow-up calls to their customer service team to chase up the confirmation, but there were no major battles or refusals. Everything appears locked in now.
Thanks again to those who gave advice and reassurance in the earlier threads – it really helped knowing what to expect and how to approach the calls. Fingers crossed for smooth travels from here!
BUT…. do you have a ticket number?
Yes, I assume that’s a good thing?
