Upgrade flight originally booked on Amex Travel

Hi folks. Am I able to upgrade a BA flight that was booked on Amex Travel but using Avios in my BAEC account? Thanks.

You can always call and ask, but as I understand it TA’s often book people into fare buckets which aren’t eligible to upgrade with avios.

Yes Amex Travel is particularly fond of these bulk fares that cannot be upgraded, even when they’re the same or similar price to public fares. But worth a try, you’ll need to call in most likely, I’ve never had the option available online
