Upgrade (non-avios card) card data points

Are there any data points of people upgrading in-app their non-avios barclaycard to the avios, especially during the SUB offers?

If you upgrade you won’t get the sub, you need to cancel and wait 6 months. FWIW I never had an option to switch to an Avios card, I cancelled and waited (and will hopefully be reaccepted now!)

Oh yeah I should have reworded that, I have seen a report of someone who didnt get the high SUB but they got an alternative offer, which was lower.

This was just last week (before the increased sub), one of my friends who has a Barclaycard checked his available cards to switch to, and had the offer of 1k avios for £1k spend on the free card, and 5k for £3k on the Plus card.
