As a family of 5 (2 adults , 3 kids (14,12,4))
We have an upcoming trip booked with avios
At the time (summer 22)
Only had 4 club seats available, so booked 4 club and 1 premium economy.
I don’t mind seating in PE
Now notice on the outbound an additional club seat has become available on the outbound and there is also cash offer to upgrade.
Was thinking cheekily that a kind check in person at the first wing.. might try and seat us together
Wonder what people view is on the chances of that..
Should I simply pay extra avios and fees now on the phone or take a chance and see what happens at the airport..
Booked the PE ticket in my wife’s name whe has no status
No chance
If on the day the flight is oversold in PE then they’ll move people forward. But the list is decided by an algorithm and the person on the desk will have no control over it.
So if you want to sit in CW then it’s best to either change the booking now or take the upgrade.
