Ok, just thought it was a possibility the voucher was actually in your account, just not visible by usual routes (app, or book a reward flight webpage). My BUV now only appear specifically on the website account homepage, where you can click to redeem…obviously only one at a time though…

I chased Barclays yesterday eve, no update.
    Has anyone had more success?

They have 8 weeks to respond to the complaint so I’m not holding out much hope ☹️

I just had a call from the complaints department saying that they apologise for the delay and that the issue is still with the IT department. He was not able to commit to a time frame (understandably and he was just the messenger) but since it was impacting a number of folks he said he knew it was being addressed as a matter of urgency.
Offered me £50 by way of an apology.
One of the dates I wanted to use my Voucher for already has no CW availability so I am really keen for it to appear asap!

Had a call back from the Barclays complaints team who upheld my complaint (still no voucher issued).

Long and short, and a very honest answer, the certificate numbers (so I was told) were limited to 4 digits, and when the last voucher was issued (9999), everything broke – I kid you not. I was told a fix should be in place this week.

All my previous Barclays vouchers have 7 digits and start with a 4. Appears not be in any sequential order that I can tell.

I am still waiting for my most recent anniversary. Barclays chat agent say to contact BA, the voucher has been issued….

Following the submission of my complaint on Monday, a lady from Barclaycard complaints phoned me on Tuesday morning and I explained the problem to her. She said she was having a meeting with “the Avios team” on Wednesday. Hey presto, the voucher has appeared in my BAEC account today!

Hurrah, both of mine have appeared too!
And I’ve already used one, not on my first choice of date, I’ll be flying into Phoenix a day later than hoped, but close enough to be manageable.

Mine arrived last night. Surprised the flight I wanted was still available, however I suspect there many where in the same boat.

    Good point Harrison.
I ended up using both of mine last night and also snagged the last CW seat to SFO on my dates next October! Phew

I looked at using a Barclays voucher in Cw and the costs were ridiculous. Sticking to 241s for CW, and have switched Premier account and card over to 7000 Avios. Doesn’t seem very much but the upgrade vouchers don’t seem worth it – to me anyway

They’re not as good as 241 but certainly not terrible. For example, just booked London to Las Vegas in peak time (flying in Club World). 241 voucher is 100k Avios, return, for 1 person (so 100k saving). Barclays voucher is 135k Avios, return, for a 1 person (so 65k saving). Cash is the same on both. Certainly better than the 7k points but it does depend where and when you’re planning to go.

It really does depend on the trip, I earn 2 x Barclays and 1 x Amex voucher per year and use all 3 of them for return off peak CW flights to the US West Coast. Barclays cost me 95,000 avios per return flight, Amex cost me 90,000 avios (fees the same).
So for me they are pretty much the same value and all are worthwhile as I would never cough up the cash to fly CW to SFO.
    No regrets!

The Barclays vouchers are really easy to earn, even on the free card, and well worth it as you also get avios from the spend. My best use so far was to upgrade to CW to DXB last December instead of paying Xmas holiday cash prices. Planning to use the next one to visit New Orleans which has long been on my bucket list.

I like the thought that spending £20K on the free card is ‘easy’, but I know what you mean.

If concerned about CW vs CS pick your MSY flights carefully, as they were using a mix of 788’s, 789’s & 781’s. At least there should be a few more CS 788’s by next year.

Thanks for the tip! It won’t be for at least 12 months so finger crossed re the aircraft.

They are even easier to earn when you have a Barclays premier bank account! No spending required 😉

If you have an Amex card and Curve Metal, you can mirror your Amex spend (up to £3k a month) onto the Barclays card and qualify for the voucher. That’s where the majority of my Barclays spend comes from. I do end up putting a fair wedge on there directly, but only when the retailer doesn’t accept Amex.
