I’ve booked a redemption stay at a Hilton for the summer. I want to have a (paid and) guaranteed upgrade to a villa suite. I think they call it upsell, not so sure.
What is the best strategy to approach this. Should I start writing to them and negotiate, or wait till the last month in order to get the best price?

Personally I’ve always negotiated in advance rather than wait until closer to the actual date, typically the upgrade cost i’ve been offered is the difference between the cash rate for the booked room and the desired room, that gap ‘feels’ smaller the further out you are

Nope go for it now. If they use Nor1 you might see the offer price for a “space available” upgrade but atleast sets a benchmark and they’ll probably just guarantee it.
