I am aware that when people book outbound 355 days out they can then ring up subsequently and add the return. However, I am looking at using a voucher only 1 way from London to Sydney which goes via Singapore but I want to stop in Singapore for a few days i.e. the SIN – SYD flight I want won’t yet be available. Do I need to a) wait and just hope for the best and book both once the SIN – SYD flight is released or b) book the LON – SIN – SYD flight without a stopover and then a few days later can I ring up and push the SIN – SYD flight back a few days or c) should I just book the LON – SIN and then add the SIN – SYD flight a few days later how people might normally do with the return (given the time zone I will be in at the time I would prob use full avios and then ring up subsequently to claim back half)?
Hoping I am not the first to stopover en route in Singapore so I am sure someone bright on HfP can give me some good advice!
Many thanks in advance
There is a long thread discussing booking SIN/SYD, I can’t recall whether the title indicated that it was this, but it will be in one of the 241 discussions, I think.
Someone had booked a stopover, but possibly had to call BA to book it. The seats may have been available due to the extra availability from the regions IIRC.
But even standard award availability for later next year is looking pretty good on SeatSpy at the moment – when are you looking at travelling?
not until early 2025 so too early yet but just planning ahead. Annoyingly I am going to be in Egypt on a Nile cruise at T-355!
I will try and locate the discussion you are referencing. Many thanks

I can’t find the thread I was thinking about (it might be part of the very long but current one re booking the return with the 241, but it may have been @ColinMcKinnon who posted that they had managed to book the stopover.
thanks – I had managed to find that 2nd one
Thanks for your efforts NorthernLass
Sydney and Singapore are no longer that much of a holy grail as it used to be. This is probably because there is less competition for seats due to introduction of A380, high number of Avios needed, everyone booking on Qatar amongst other things.
Tokyo is the new Singapore/Sydney it seems.
Sorry for hijacking the thread.
