I’m off to USA next week and usually I buy a local 30 day T-Mobile SIM that gives me all the data I need, local calls and also hot spot access.
For a tenner I can get a roaming add on for EE that let’s me use my allowance in the USA, much cheaper but will it work as well???
(I know it won’t give me local calls)
In particular I really need the hot spot for my laptop.
TIA
I used EE in Florida last October for £10 and it worked great. Just watch your dates because if your visit straddles 2 billing months you’ll pay £20. When you cancel the roaming pass it carries on until the end of that billing month.
So I t’s not £10 per calendar month but billing month with the first month pro-rated.
Works perfectly.
Mines is £11.40 on the older contract Roam Further Pass rather than Roam Abroad pass. It’s pro-rata for the first part month then full value for the following month.
Fair use policy applies of about 50Gb when abroad, but I use WiFi if I’m streaming in hotels etc.
I use the EE pass when I visit the US (usually the Philadelphia area) and it works fine.
