Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Using two Barclays Upgrade vouchers

  • dynamites 15 posts

    Hi all

My wife and I have 2 upgrade vouchers each (on sep Exec Club accounts) and are looking to book 4 reward seats – 2 on each account.
My account lets me highlight the vouchers I want to use (checkbox) on the site but my wife can only select (either) one of her vouchers- despite both being in data at the time of flight.

A call to the helpline ended with stalemate after the handler said only one can be used despite the BA website suggesting otherwise (plus the fact that I can do it on my account)- we’ve tried different browsers and devices- any ideas how to move forward before the seats go if the call handlers simply refuse to acknowledge that two are possible on one booking for two people?

Are you both using the same device to make your bookings? BA’s IT flakiness even varies between gadgets! If playing around with devices doesn’t achieve the required outcome, you may need to HUACA until you get an agent who knows what they’re doing.

Or make 3 bookings, unless there are issues you want to avoid like possibly sitting apart.

I’ve tried the same device and also different ones

Not sure 3 bookings would work given two of the seats are for our kids?

I see. How old are the kids? Did you mention this when you called?

I would call again and even ask if they can book all 4 seats – then at least you know you won’t lose them in the meantime.

In the end we had to call back and got them to book it on the phone. They initially said it wasn’t possible again but then we told them it should be and they tried and were able to do it, but not before they tried to charge us for booking on the phone.

I ended up booking the other two seats simultaneously on my account online- all went through fine with the two vouchers and was bizarrely much quicker than the agent…..
