Does anyone know if you can use the Virgin Atlantic credit card voucher to upgrade a single sector on Virgin Atlantic, on a ticket that includes a connection on Delta?
Eg. Book award ticket in Premium on LHR-ATL-BNA, where LHR-ATL is virgin operated and ATL-BNA is Delta operated and then use a voucher to upgrade the LHR-ATL leg to Upper Class.
(Assuming that there is award availability in Upper class on the LHR-ATL sector).
I’d rather not book separate legs as I want to have the assurance of a guaranteed connection.
You can use it on a connecting flight but they’ll only book into economy on the DL leg.
However, you can use the ticket number in your DL account to upgrade to Comfort+ with cash or miles. DL miles (transfer instantly from Amex MR),
I had MAN-JFK-RIC booked as above, then 6 weeks after booking DL cancelled all afternoon/evening flights to RIC, so Virgin happily rebooked that leg into Norfolk without argument.
